Isn't this the cutest bear ever?
His name is Bear from Janet Steven's Caldecott Honor winning picture book, Tops and Bottoms. I had the honor of attending two of Janet's presentations at the Nevada SCBWI conference in 1994 or so. She went over the entire design and writing process of the book and I fell in love with the characters, the story, and the humor. Evidently, once the book was published, so did the entire nation.
From the first page: " "ONCE upon a time there lived a very lazy bear who had lots of money and lots of land..."
Truly, a bear after MY heart!
